Description
The Strong House on Amity Street is located next to the Jones Library and is the home of the Amherst Historical Society, which purchased the property in 1916 . It was built about 1744 and is considered one of the oldest existing homes in Amherst. Tall "bride-and-groom" sycamore trees flank the front door. One of the trees was removed in the 1950s.
