This 1930 watercolor by Ruth Burgess is among the collection of the Jones Library 

Throughout her lifetime, Ruth contributed to various charitable institutions, including the Vermont Historical Society, with her artwork and financial support. Upon her death in 1934, a portion of John and Ruth Burgess’ estate, including artwork, was bequeathed to the Jones Library in recognition of John’s familial ties to founder Samuel Minot Jones. John’s alma mater, Amherst College and Columbia University were also recipients.
