Description
A boy stands at the door of a little building with bare trees behind it and some wood piles by the road. The description reads: "First to arrive on a winter morning was the boy who made the fire, and for his service during the term received one dollar. Many distinguished men have attended school in just such humble buildings. It was in this recently that the poet Bryant began his schooling."
