Weather vanes -- Massachusetts

A young boy is standing, and a young girl sitting, on broad granite steps of a building in Hadley looking at a weathercock that is positioned on the steps with them. The building is the First Congregational Church and the weather vane was taken down from the spire to be re-gilded. Caption on back reads: "the children never had seen a bird like that close at hand, and the small boy feels somewhat anxious."
