Description

A round gravestone with rounded shoulders, image of two figures surrounded by flowers. Inscription reads: Sacred to the memory of Capn Moses Porter, who was born at Hadley January 13th AD. 1721 & was slain by the Indians near Crown Point in the Morning scout of the 8th of Sep. 1755. Mrs. Elizabeth relict of capt. Moses Porter who was born at East Hartford Oc. 4th AD. 1719 and died at Hadley Oc. 2 1798. Earth's ev'ry station ends in "Here he lies" But (?) immortal wails beyond the Grave.
